Dogs Leashed
Need to Know
This trail is on private land that landowners have generously allotted for trail building and public access. As such, its use is a privilege. Please stay on the trail and be respectful of the land and of other users. Also, remember that this is a multi-use trail, so you'll encounter mountain bikers, dog walkers and other hikers. Be safe and respectful around them.
Description
A newly opened trail as of July 2019, the Hidden Hoot is a 3-mile lollipop (4.5 total back to the starting point) that affords great views of the Big Horn Mountains.
To access this trail, park in the lot just behind the Black Tooth Park off of 5th Street. Follow the doubletrack path through the golf course until you come to a fence and a gate labeled "Hidden Hoot." At this point, you'll be on a singletrack trail. Continue on the trail until you pass a pond.
At this point, you are given two options to complete the loop. You can climb up the "Easy Way" or the "Hard Way." Take the "Easy Way" on the left and climb the switchbacks. At the top of the climb, you'll see a twisting and banked section of trail ("The Hard Way" section). Continue down this section and enjoy the downhill. You'll eventually come out of the "Hard Way" intersection near the pond.
At this point, you can either head back out or continue around the loop again for more fun.
