Description
The Maryville College Woods Loop is comprised of several trails: the
Perimeter Trail,
Ampitheater Trail,
Ropes Course Trail,
Brown Creek Trail,
Knoll Orchard Trail, and
Log Bridge Trail.
The trail itself is easy to follow, as it is quite a wide trail at times. There are many small connections to and from the main trail, so be adventurous and explore. The trail itself is mostly packed dirt with small portions of paved sections (when you exit out of the university cemetery area, that is the main section of paved road).
There are many entrances and exits along the trail, making it easy to create many other trails or paths for the adventurous type.
Flora & Fauna
A varied assortment of pines, cedars, and magnolia trees; there also is a large patch of English ivy near the Ruby Tuesday Lodge.
History & Background
The English ivy around the Ruby Tuesday Lodge is said to have been planted in the early 1900s.
