Need to Know
Plenty of water access along the way (> 5 stream crossings).
Description
This trail is straightforward. From the base of the Whistler gondola, follow doubletrack gravel roads up the ski run. This is well signed about 100 meters from the base of the hill (the sign is near the first or second pole on the chair lift). Follow the GPS track here to be sure.
From the trailhead, the gravel road/doubletrack becomes progressively more interesting as it climbs evenly and gently into the more remote backcountry. The doubletrack eventually gives way to a nice winding singletrack trail. After about 8 kilometers, the trail bursts out of the forest into splendid alpine meadow bursting with flowers from late June to early August.
The trail as mapped ends at the junction between Russet Lake and the Musical Bumps trail. This junction is clearly signed.
Flora & Fauna
Marmots, bears, and plenty of other alpine critters.
