Need to Know
Don't get caught out here after sunset as it can be very challenging to find your way back. Be cautious of bulls in cattle area, give them space and they'll leave you alone. If you mountain bike be careful as we have had folks get flats from massive sand spurs.
Runner Notes
Most flat, a few gates that you have to open and close behind you, some sugar sand areas but side areas you can retain footing.
Description
Many places are sugar sand but some oak hammocks and a variety of Florida landscapes. Parking access only along 675 entrance. Have to cross a couple pastures with cattle to access northern sections. Equestrian and mountain bike friendly. Occasional wild hogs, deer, bobcats and other wildlife. Best done in cooler months as much doesn't have cover. Dozens of geocaches located in this preserve. Take a GPS as many places can be confusing, no blazed trails. Maps available on SWFWMD site
