Overview
A great run that takes you through Schabarum Park. I would highly recommend this one for a short hike to get the blood flowing ... enjoy!
Need to Know
Restrooms are located by the horse stables.
Runner Notes
It's dirt road most of the way, making for a soft run. There's gravel and small stones in sections so be careful for slippage.
Description
Street access takes you directly to the trailhead. This loop trail consists of several small trails in the park. There are several hills to run on trails, as well as a fire road (dirt) to run. There are some great views of the Rowland Heights area and local hills along the way.
Start by going to the Black
Walnut Trail--on Fullerton Road (just west of Harbor Boulevard). Take this up to the
Powder Canyon Trail and onwards (north) to the horse stables. The trail continues west ending at the Schabarum Peak (by the transmission towers).
There is a nice short and steep trek to the top. From there, it is back to the start at Fullerton Road. A great little run.
Flora & Fauna
Local wildflowers in the spring are beautiful here.
