Overview
A simple but challenging up-and-back run in the hills in La Crescenta! Street is parking available on Harter Lane. It is very steep beginning as you round the water tanks, then up the hill you go!
Need to Know
Very little shade, no restrooms or water. Parking on the streets.
Runner Notes
Great trail for a workout. Totally runnable. It can be slippery, especially on the way down. Lots of fine gravel.
Description
There's a nice spot about halfway up the trail with two picnic tables and a place to tie off a horse (or your running companions). The trail continues upwards from there to the top of the hill. When you arrive at the top, there is a cool tee pee to see!
The trail is mostly smooth and can be slippery (especially on the way down) with a lot of fine gravel covering the path.
Throughout the run, the trail spits off but generally meets back with itself so feel free to try either path.
If you keep wandering down the trail past the tee pee you can see a few nice beehives.
There are great views of Los Angeles. You can easily see all the way to downtown in one direction, and a beautiful view of the San Gabriel mountains in the other.
