Overview
With abundant ocean views and interpretive signs along the trail, it's not hard to find the value in this run.
Description
Like most runs in Maine, this one is no different in that it is absolutely stunning in the autumn when the leaves are turning. The vibrant trees on rocky cliffs above the vast ocean is a sight to behold.
Start at the Parking area taking
Old Woods Road Trail briefly before taking a left on
Harraseeket Trail. The trail meanders through the woods via occasionally steep and uneven terrain. Before long it reaches the west coast of the park and you'll have some nice views of the main land.
Follow
Harraseeket Trail all the way back across the park to the opposite shore. Here you'll reach the juntion with
Casco Bay Trail your first interpretive sign and stairs to access the tidal beach below. From here on you'll have various viewpoints, beach access and interpretive signs where you can learn about the park.
The rest of the run is fairly level.
Casco Bay Trail runs along the coastal the way to
White Pines Trail.
White Pines Trail is an accessible trail with with more interpretive signs. Follow it all the way to
North Loop Trail which you'll take to round out your run before heading back to the parking area.
