Overview
While well known for its wintertime ski trails, He-Nis-Ra Park offers summer visitors an equally wonderful experience traversing it's well-established hardwood forests. Starting and ending from a large parking area, there are possibilities for a number of different ways to link together the park trails—the current route mapped is just one option.
Description
Starting at the main parking area for the park, travel west along the
Red Trail and make your way into the dense hardwood forest. At the junction with the
Green Trail, make a left, following the trail for a short length until reaching its end back on the
Red Trail. Continuing south, the
Red Trail heads left to connect with the
Blue Trail. The
Blue Trail wraps around the southern portion of the park, windings its way through multiple species of hardwood that can prove quite beautiful in their autumn color. After making your way around the
Blue Trail, you'll eventually reach a junction with the
Red Trail again. Make a right and head east along this portion, eventually placing you back at the parking area where you started.
