An alternate way up Broderson Peak Trail from the MDO side. Steep, sandy, sometimes narrow and overgrown; still fun.

Description

This is a relatively steep trail with large steps, it is definitely more difficult than the elevation gain suggests. The trail alternates between hard-packed dirt, sand, and clay; it is sometimes wide doubletrack and has sections of narrow trail overgrown with poison oak. It's quite a slog to run up, but very fun to run down.

The trail begins on Hazard Canyon Road, about 100ft from its intersection with Pecho Valley Road. There is a faint trail on the left with an iron gate about 50 ft. up the trail. Pass the gate and proceed uphill; the trail widens after this. The trail officially terminates at Broderson Peak, connecting to Broderson Peak Trail. You can continue downhill in order to connect to Hazard Canyon Road...but this is an unsanctioned connector.
