Need to Know
Please watch out for traffic along New Canada Road.
Description
This section starts off N. Wilmot Road, following the tread of the
Beaver Pond Trail. It travels for a ways, then reaches a turn-off left. This small loop takes you past a granite bench that overlooks the beaver pond. It turns back onto the main tread and travels to Patterson Road. Here, at Patterson Road, the trail turns left along the road.
The SRK Greenway follows the tread of
Patterson Farm Trail all the way to Eagle Pond Road. The trail passes by a few cellarholes, remnants of the Patterson Farm. It skirts around the peak of the hill, then descends to Eagle Pond Road. It turns right to follow Eagle Pond Road all the way past the bridge. Just after crossing the bridge, the trail turns left (into a field) and follows the edge of the woods. It parallels the
Northern Rail Trail along a raised bit of land. Here, there's a small view spur on the left.
It turns right, down to the
Northern Rail Trail, and follows it north. In a short distance, it turns off the rail trail and climbs up to Route 4. Follow Route 4 to New Canada Road, then turn right onto it. It follows New Canada Road until it reaches the parking area for
Ragged Mountain Trail. Section 8 ends here and section 9 continues, following
Ragged Mountain Trail.
