This loop takes you to the "hole in two rocks"—a picturesque rock formation once painted by Van Gogh. The two circular holes were worn by erosion and now frame the landscape with views of the forested slopes of Alpilles and the Mediterranean, on a clear day.

This run follows wide and well-maintained paths, and there are many options within the park to add on more mileage or vary your route. For this loop, find parking along the road, and start out on the wide, well packed trail. This path climbs gradually and steadily, passing the historic Glanum ruins to the west before winding into the woods.

At just over a mile, the climb get steeper as you make the final push to Le Rocher des Deux Trous or "the hole in two rocks". You'll know when you reach the viewpoint as the large, circular holes in the large rock formation form a kind of natural frame of the landscape. Enjoy soaking in the views of the forested slopes of the Parc Naturel Régional des Alpilles. On a clear day, you might even be able to spot the Mediterranean in the distance.

From here, the rest of the run is mainly downhill, with a few steeper sections near the top. Finish off your run by exploring a local lavender field or stopping off to see the ruins and sacred spring of the ancient Gallic city of Glanum.
