Description
The Nevado de Cachi at 20,932 feet is the ultimate goal of these segments.
Day-four continued the run up the valley ending at the 17,400 foot high camp. The majority of the distance continued the description found in day-three, ending in a switchbacking climb to the site of the high camp. At the high camp a defunct weather station's material lies scattered around including the toppled tower.
We arrived early afternoon and made some short acclimatization runs to insure that we were feeling good at this altitude. No problems in the group. An early dinner and to bed anticipating a 2am wake up call for the summit day.
