The Hempstead Harbor Shoreline Trail is relatively new and a very easy trail along the southwest side of Hempstead Harbor, south of Hempstead Beach Park/Bar Beach. The starting point is by a small gazebo in the parking lot next to the Manhasset Crew Team's storage. The trail is 2-miles (4-mile round-trip) down the shore through mostly light gravel or mulched walkways. There are a few inclines here and there, and there can be some wet and lightly muddy spots, but otherwise it's mainly flat and easy to run. Benches and gazebos along the way make for scenic stops.
