Runner Notes
Appears to be a good trail for trail running, although it will be muddy during the rainy seasons.
Description
Start at the Bonneville Dam Trailhead, and proceed for less than a mile where you'll encounter an intersection with the PCT. Go left, to Canada, and proceed through both open and forested sections of trail, with stream crossings and lake views.
You'll cross an area cleared for power lines, as well as some utility access roads. After passing through the power line clearing, you'll encounter Gillette Lake, which offers fishing and some campsites.
You'll know you have reached Greenleaf Overlook (and the turnaround spot) when you see an expansive view of the gorge to your left, and some mossy rocks, where the PCT angles back into a forested section.
History & Background
This area was created in the aftermath of the formation of the Bridge of the Gods.
