Overview
Blacklick Woods Metro Park is home to a fantastic patch of dense hardwood forest rife with wildlife and birds. As such, if you're looking for a place to get out and really feel like you're in nature, this is the place for you.
While in the region, be on the lookout for the occasional swampy area.
Description
Starting from the parking area, follow the trail as it makes its way south through thick stands of hardwood along the appropriately named
Beech Trail. Upon reaching the
Buttonbush Trail, continue south until reaching the
Nature Center Spur. From here, the trail leads out to and across a large parking area to the
Multi-purpose Trail on the other side. Heading left on the
Multi-purpose Trail, the trail makes a nice easy loop through a more open parcel of the park before returning to the same point.
Once you've made the loop, simply return using the same trails on which you arrived—although this time utilizing the other half of their loops.
