Access the trailhead at Memorial Park, 104 W. Main Street, Winnebago, IL 61088.

From the park, head north until you find the trail and turn right. The trail continues through the Village of Winnebago for 0.5 miles. At the Village outskirts, the pavement changes from asphalt to crushed gravel. Continue on the trail through the farm fields, crossing several backroads along the way. The trail ends at S. Meridian Road on the outskirts of Rockford, IL.
