Dogs Leashed
Need to Know
Parking is available at Woods Charter School on evenings, weekends, and holidays. There is also a small parking lot near the Briar Chapel dog park off of Great Ridge Parkway.
Description
This trail begins across the street from the Woods Charter School bus lot. Immediately after beginning, the trail ascends for a short period over loose rocks and gravel. At the top of the short ascent is a rocky area that is fun to explore. The descent past this area is very uneven and rocky, so take caution. Once the trail levels out again the footing is more even.
Most of the rest of the trail is through a forest, though there are a few short sections with loose gravel. After crossing two small bridges over streams, the trail intersects with the connector near the Lower Pokeberry Creek Bridge. Just past this intersection, the trail ends at the paved greenway parallel to Great Ridge Parkway.
Flora & Fauna
Squirrels, many varieties of birds, the occasional deer and rabbit. Mostly pine forest with mixed hardwoods.
