Need to Know

There is a parking area in Gummsteg, which has space for about ten cars.

Description

This hike is exhausting. Make sure to have hiking equipment, especially good shoes. I recommend doing it during the summer in good weather. There are several official ways along the river.

I started at "Gummsteg" in Steffisburg. After 1.5 hours walking along the river, I took the official way back to the street close to the village "Homberg."The next two hours I walked along the road to the village Eriz. From Eriz, you can take the local bus back to Steffisburg.

Flora & Fauna

Be aware of ticks. Check your body after the hike. Avoid stinging nettle.
