Description
McCreery Lake Trail is a short trail through thin woods. It starts at McCreery Lake and the Loop/McCreery Lake/
Lakeview Trail junction found at the 0.4 mile mark along
Loop Trail. From here, McCreery Lake Trail runs along McCreery Lake that is to the right, for a short ways to the lake's outlet where there is a small spillway. After winter and spring rains, this spillway can be underwater, and so the trail can be impassable here. As waters subside, the spillway area dries out and the trail continues across the spillway and veers left, leaving McCreery Lake behind.
Continuing on in the woods, the woods become thinner with much sunshine beaming through. A wooded creek valley drops off to the left. To the right, it can also be wet, so the trail is raised on a small dike-like ridge here. McCreery Lake Trail ends after 0.4 miles, at
Halls Valley Trail about 0.5 miles from a parking area.
