Runner Notes
The trail is rocky and along the coast sandy.
Description
I started my run at the camping ground in Hellissandur. First, I followed the main road to the north-west. The trail leads along the beach of the national park.
On the way, you encounter the old "Well of the Irish," a historical attraction. Next to it is the parking area Írskabrunnur.
From there, the route passes a sheltered cove with golden sand and beautiful beaches to take a selfie. There are fishing relics at Öndverðarnes. You encounter many birds, and it is possible to spot whales.
Take the route in the south back to the road 579.
Flora & Fauna
A lot of Seagulls along the coast.
