Need to Know
There are no services along this trail.
This trail creates a nice loop trail between the Bake Lake Trail and South Baker Creek Trails. For those wanting to get a short loop in, this is a nice trail.
Runner Notes
This trail is pretty rocky at the beginning and climbs steeply up the hill. It is fairly heavily traveled as runners use this to create a shorter loop, but it is decent trail to get in a nice run.
Description
Baker Lake-South Fork Baker Creek Connector Trail is a a half mile trail that connects the
Baker Lake Trail and the
South Fork Baker Creek Trail. As you run up the
Baker Lake Trail, just after you pass the one mile mark, this trail breaks off to the left and drops down toward the creek and crosses a wooden bridge. From here, the trail climbs uphill for roughly two-tenths of a mile.
You'll get to see wildflowers blooming in the late spring or early summer. Once the trail crests the hillside, it drops steeply down the backside of the hill and then the trail starts to level out. It moves through the woods paralleling the
South Fork Baker Creek Trail before arriving moving to the left where the trail terminates into the
South Fork Baker Creek Trail.
There is a beautiful view of the meadow here. From here, you can turn to the right and run up to the
Timber Creek Trail or turn to the left and run back to the parking lot. While a simple trail, this is a great connector when combined with other trails in the area.
Flora & Fauna
A variety of wildflowers can be seen along the trail in the spring.
Deer and turkeys can be seen in this area, especially in the evenings.
