Although our previous half course was amazingly gorgeous, after the recent wildfires in the park, the views along the Chestnut Knob Trail really opened up and it now holds on of the best views in the park, as well as some amazing new singletrack trail! Runners will still climb the stairs to the waterfall and get to bomb down the awesome singletrack of Shinny Trail!

3 creek crossings that will guarantee to get your feet wet. Non our too treacherous even in higher water.

With the creek crossings, be sure to wear well draining shoes and quality wool socks.

Course Directions:

- Start at Shelter and run road back towards park entrance
- Turn left onto Raven Rock Trail and climb up to Little River Trail
- Turn right onto Little River Trail and follow to the end at its junction with Upper CCC Trail
- Turn left onto Upper CCC Trail and follow to Sawtooth Trail
- Turn left onto Sawtooth Trail and follow to Chestnut Knob Trail
- Turn left onto Chestnut Knob Trail (out and back to overlook optional) and follow to H.Q. Trail
- Turn right onto H.Q. Trail and follow to High Shoals Falls Loop trail (aid station)
- Turn left onto High Shoals Falls Loop and climb up past the waterfalls
- Turn right onto Upper Falls Trail and follow to intersection of Shinny Trail
- Turn right onto Shinny Trail and follow to intersection with H.Q. Trail
- Turn left onto H.Q. Trail and follow all the way back to the finish.
