Bumpass Hell Trail.
Need to Know
There are no facilities down at Bumpass Hell, so make sure that you use the restrooms in the parking area and have plenty of water and food for the run.
Runner Notes
The trail is short and can be very crowded, so not the greatest area for a trail run.
Description
As you descend the
Bumpass Hell Trail, there's an alternative trail that breaks off to the left at the 1 mile mark and descends down into the Bumpass Hell area. The trail provides great views of the whole Bumpass Hell area as you approach the boardwalk. The trail starts on a singletrack dirt trail before it turns to the right and descends a series of steps and boardwalks toward the
Bumpass Hell Boardwalk. Its a short alternative to the main
Bumpass Hell Trail.
