Description
The Webster Branch of the
Webster-Jackson Trail forks right off the
Webster-Jackson Trail about 1.35 miles from its trailhead. The Webster Branch almost immediately takes a steep rocky drop down to Silver Cascade where you'll get a beautiful spot to look at a waterfall.
You'll also cross over the Silver Cascade which may be challenging in high water. Right after crossing you'll climb back up a rocky slope and continue to run along a relatively rocky trail at a moderate grade.
As you continue the trail is generally well maintained and easy to follow and may be occasionally marked with a blue blaze. You'll cross a handful of small brooks, notably at 0.3 and 0.35 miles. The trail continues through a generally wet and mossy forest with shorter trees and some slippery slabs of rock.
The trail ends after about nine tenths of a mile when it reaches the
Webster Cliff Trail (also the AT). You can continue right just a short bit to incredible views from the summit of Mount Webster. Or continue left about a mile or so for the summit of Mount Jackson.
