Need to Know
Brusno is a spa village located in centre of Slovakia. When I say centre I mean really in heart of country because geographical centre is reachable by yellow running path only 13km from village centre. In spa area you can find restaurant and bar with restrooms.
Runner Notes
Watch out on roots, rocks and slippery mud. Trail traverse steep forest so it's important to have appropriate grip.
Description
If you starting from south (in Spa area) you can park car next to cross in front of ramp. Continue via asphalt road (green running path) until you hit crossing "Čierna". Turn right (stay on green running path) and find beaten track which starts under forest on your right hand approximately 200m after turn (DO NOT follow green path).
After finding track continue uphill above empty water reservoir until you hit crossing (0.63 km from start). Make a U-turn and continue on the beaten path, cross asphalt road (pay attention, path may be overgrown with vegetation here) after crossing, continue straight and cross another road and after crossing keep on left and continue uphill.
On third kilometer after a steep descent, cross forest road and continue uphill until you find end of patch. You'll be standing on top of rock formation "Skala" with amazing views on Brusno and Nizke Tatry mountain range. For return to village can be used this trail opposite way or meadow located under rock formation with end on road. After turning left and following road you appear in village after few hundreds meters.
Flora & Fauna
You'll be running through mixed forrest. Without on roots and slippery mud. Enjoy beauty of nature but don't make unnecessary noise because this forest is home of protect birds and animals, for example even bears.
