Description

From rippling brooks, tall trees, the chirping of birds and the lapping of waves, Parrott's Bay Conservation Area has become a valued refuge for those seeking to commune with nature. Visitors can explore native plant and animal life, try their hand at some angling, or just spend quality time in the outdoors with family, friends or in the solitude of their own thoughts for those living in west end Kingston, Loyalist Township and travelers along the busy Loyalist Parkway tourism route.

There is parking off of Trail 4 so this is one place to start your hike. The southwestern segment of Trail 4 is more rugged than the rest of Parrott's Bay as the terrain is quite sloped and there are many exposed roots. That said, trails are wide and easy to follow. In the eastern segment of Trail 4, near the connection to Trail 5, is a meadow which features an old abandoned stone house.

Trail 4 connects to Trail 3-4 Connector Bridge which is often used for fishing and for letting dogs swim. It's a rich wetlands habitat so full of frogs and other wildlife; humans probably won't enjoy swimming here.
