Need to Know

Parking is free. In addition to parking on Forest Drive on the north end of the trail, there is also parking on the south end of the trail on Stone's Pocket Road. The gate on Stone's Pocket road is closed from November-March.

Description

There are a lot of reasons to not run Baxter's Hollow. It is rocky, muddy, and apparently very buggy in the summer. Some parts of the trail might be covered in large puddles. You'll probably turn an ankle or trip on a rock at some point. But Baxter's Hollow has a lot to offer. For those willing to endure, singletrack and solidarity in a dense forest await them.

The trail starts at the end of Forest Drive, a dirt road littered with potholes. The trail is well marked with orange or yellow blazes.Throughout the first 1.5 miles or so, the trail is riddled with lots of rocks, mud, and stream crossings. The last mile is more open and drier with less obstacles on the trail. The trail ends at Stone's Pocket Road. Running from the south trailhead to the north is bit more strenuous, with some steady inclines .
