Description

The Reeds Gap Spur Trail begins at the Mid-State Trail junction in Poe Paddy State Park and ends at parking lot A of Reeds Gap State Park. The runner will join the White Mountain Ridge Trail (WMRT) 2.1 miles after the junction and a steep and rocky climb.

The WMRT is an out-and-back trail with a small loop at the end where the runner can take the Devil's Elbow Trail to the road and rejoin the WMRT after a short road run. Chimney Rock is a highlight of this section. After returning to the RGST, the runner can expect to cross multiple ridges with steep rocky climbs and descents. You'll take a step back in time at the Bear Gap Picnic area.
