Description
From Whiteoak Stamp on the Appalachian Trail, follow the blue blaze trail heading South, but before reaching the water source, look for an old logging road to the right. Follow the logging road down multiple lazy switchbacks. As the trail nears Holden Cove Creek it will turn into more of a singletrack trail as it follows the creek for the rest of the way.
Multiple cascades and small waterfalls will greet you on this part of the trail. There are a few creek crossings, but depending on how much water is flowing you should be able to keep dry. The most notable cascade is called Oversoul Falls. The end of the trail, or the beginning if you are running up to the AT, will require a ford of the Tallulah River.
This is a great connector trail to access Ravenrock Cliff Overlook, or to help facilitate a loop backpacking trip in the area.
Trail is unmarked, aside from a few blue blazes right at the beginning near the AT.
As of Dec 2020, the trail is easily passable having recently received some great maintenance from various trail angels.
