Description
East
Bayview Trail is found at the south end of the parking area on the west side of the park road. Look for a needle-covered trail going into the forest, not far from the road. There is no trail sign marking the trail start here.
East
Bayview Trail starts and stays in the redwood forest. Initially the trail runs along the park road, but far enough away from the road that there are only occasional glimses of the road and any cars on it. At first flat, the trail begins to gently descend in the lush, redwood forest. After about a quarter mile, the trail veers slightly west and starts moving away from the road.
The descent steepens, as the trail now descends on a hillside that drops off to the right/northwest, and rises to the left/southeast. For the last 0.05 mile, the trail becomes even steeper as it heads almost directly downhill to meet and end at
Bayview Trail.
Flora & Fauna
Mixed redwood forest, primarily redwoods. Lush, dense undergrowth with beautiful ferns.
