Description

The trail is a branch from the well-known Highline trail. Starting at the western terminal of the Highline trail at Hayden Pass, you follow the Highline trail east about 5 1/2 miles to a junction with the Naturalist Basin trail.

Follow this trail northeast about 2 1/2 miles to Jordan Lake. The trail continues on past Jordan Lake to Shaler Lake, but Shaler Lake has few trees making it less desirable for camping. From Jordan Lake you can investigate the much of the surrounding area including Blue Lake to the west.
