Need to Know
Keep in mind, the segment of this trail that follows the powerline corridor is not well blazed and is difficult to follow.
Description
This is one of the main trails in Branford's Supply Pond Park and, as the name suggests, is blazed orange.
The trail begins at the main trailhead of this park. For the first quarter of a mile, it parallels the shore of the pond. It then turns into the woods and parallels the wetlands around Pisgah Brook. Here, the trail intersects with
Blue Trail and double tracks with
Yellow Loop.
Next, the trail turns south and climbs a bit. It continues until it reaches a powerline corridor which it follows in a mostly unblazed section. Just before entering a neighborhood, it turns back into the woods. The last segment of the trail is a bit more rocky and uneven but rewards runners with a few small, unexpected views. The trail then ends back at the trailhead.
