Overview
Excellent 5 miles technical run with some great viewpoints on blue trail and Long Path trail. Easy access and convenient parking lot.
Description
Typical forest trails. Some parts rocky but not difficult. Lots of up and downhills. Some pretty steep but not long. It can be muddy by the reservoir on the north part of white trail.
Trail starts from parking lot. After short muddy section with some wooden platforms and steps, trail continues along forest road, then few hundreds feet after junction with blue trail exits road and continues along narrow path crossing Schuyer Road and reaching highest point of that part before getting down to junction with red trail.
From that point trail goes along mostly flat terrain all the way to reservoir and junction with
Orange Trail. This part can be muddy. After reservoir trail goes steep uphill to the ridge where it meets Long Path Trail. Just after reaching first peak there is nice viewpoint with small bench. After few next peaks trail goes on decline to the junction with red trail.
Then continues along
Red Trail crossing Tweed Blvd Road and then along forest path crossing Bradley Hill Road and reaching junction with white trail. Continuing along white trail to the junction with blue trail. Caution:
Blue Trail doesn't go along dirt road which is marked as access road to private land. Instead it starts about 500 ft down after entering road from the path. Blue trail zigzags on steady incline reaching view point.
On the way some cars wrecks. Just after viewpoint and passing junction with orange trail it goes on decline on rocky path to the next attraction: waterfalls. From that point there is just short way downhill to parking lot.
