An isolated run, although the lake can be quite busy with the 4WD crowd. Route-finding required along the way, although you'll pick up decent pieces of trail as you go if you are in the general vicinity of the most common route.

The summit provides a unique, expansive view, as you can see Mount Baker, the Cheam Range, mountains in Manning Park, towards the interior to the Monashees, the mountains up towards Lillooet and Pemberton, and over towards Garibaldi, Whistler and more.

Find your way along the long logging road to Cabin Lake. Much of the road is a well-graded gravel road that is suitable for 2WD. The roads starts to get rougher a few kilometers from the lake and we decided to park when we found a spot to get off the road.

However, once running the last bit of road we decided we likely would have easily made it in our vehicle and there were several vehicles (~10) up at the lake, so choose whatever is suitable for you. The lake is a great camping spot, though can be very buggy if you go early in the season as we did (July). We actually ran into bugs in several spots all the way to the peak so let that be a warning. :)

There are several ATV tracks/trails heading from the lake in the general direction of the peak, so feel free to pick whichever seems to be leading the most direct direction or is easiest for you. The trail will likely run out at some point but the forest is relatively easy to navigate and pick a route as you ascend up to a ridge. As you gain the ridge, the tress start to thin out and you reach the alpine.

The going gets somewhat easier here and it becomes easier to pick up bits of trail. Eventually you'll come upon a tarn. Skirt around to the East side and find a way up to the final ascent ridge. We chose a direct approach heading up but the soil was fairly loose. On the descent we stayed more to the East (right while ascending towards peak, left if descending back to lake) and this seemed to be more solid and less steep.

Once you are up on the final ridge, you'll starts to see your final destination, Stoyoma Mountain. Relatively straightforward with maybe a few mild steps of scrambling and you'll be at the summit cairn. A decent amount of space at the summit to grab a snack and soak in all of the views. This run is great if you're looking to get away from the crowds (you likely won't see anyone else past the lake), but you'll need some basic route-finding skills. Excellent views for the effort.
