Description

This trail starts at a small road turn out just south of the Wright Mountain summit, and near the PCT. It can be accessed easily from the Acorn Trail. The trail ascends over 1500' in about 1.3 miles to Pine Mountain, then gradually descends and rises again to Dawson Peak. From there, another descent and massive climb up rocky trails to the famous Mt Baldy summit.

USE CAUTION during the ascent to, and descent from Pine Mountain. This is not a trail for the faint of heart or beginners. The ridge is narrow, steep, and requires some class 3 moves to safely go up and down. If you like technical, rocky, and potentially dangerous terrain, this trail is for you. Other than melting snow, there is no water on this trail. Snow will remain into mid to late May on the peaks.
