Need to Know
Seven Bends State Park has a fee to park. See the state park guidance for the Virginia state park fees. Up the road from the Lupton parking area is a little day area, with bathrooms, a shelter, and a grill.
Please note! Tempting as the footbridge is, it is NOT part of the trail! The land across is private. Signs are visible. Just turn left when you hit the river rather than crossing the bridge, and you'll be fine.
Runner Notes
There are some steep sections and you'll want to be careful of your footing - the trail is not flat, it is rocky, and it can be muddy.
Flora & Fauna
Spotted on the trail: great blue herons, turtles, fish, dragonflies, butterflies, bumblebees, honeybees, and more. A portion of this trail runs along the edge of a field, beside the trees that follow the river. There are access points to the river (be careful, footing is difficult and the drop is a bit steep).
