Need to Know
This trail is shared with mountain bikes from May 16th to October 14th.
Description
Parking for this trail is just off the main summit road up Marys Peak. Room is available for perhaps 30 cars, but the lot can still fill up. The trail begins near the beginning of the lot on the north side. There are light blue diamond shaped blazes along this route.
The trail will almost immediately come to a forest maintenance road but the crossing is very clear. As you begin climbing up the trees will begin to appear older and larger. Views into the Willamette Valley can be had through the trees.
A little past a mile up you'll come to an intersection with a tie trail that leads to the
North Ridge Trail. Turn left on the switchback to continue climbing this trail. A few more switchbacks will lead you to the
Summit Loop Trail.
Heading north on this would take you to the large summit parking area while south will take you to the broad meadow filled summit of Marys Peak. Note that the blue diamond blazes continue in the direction of the summit. Of course you'll want to summit for the best views which will add about 200 more feet of elevation and about another 0.6 miles to this trail.
