This is one of many runs in the area that are part of the Whitefish Trail System. We headed SE from the trailhead and traveled clockwise. After about a mile, we came to the north end of Dollar Lake. The trail follows the east side of Dollar then heads up to a small ridge.

At the top of the ridge there are views of Whitefish Lake. Coming down from the ridge and after a couple of switchbacks, the trail comes to Little Beaver Lake. From there, there is a slight climb back up to the trailhead.

Both lakes had mergansers and loons.
