Need to Know

The road to the trailhead is Plum Lane, accessed from County Road H. Parking is a small, dirt cul-de-sac. The trailhead is roped off to prevent bicycles and unauthorized vehicles, but hikers are allowed access. Area is closed September through December. Avoid visiting during hunting season.

Runner Notes

The terrain is flat, and can be marshy, especially throughout the south half of the western loop section. Be wary of scattered branches and bark. Rarely you may come across garter snakes. You'll find an abundance of bird droppings throughout the trail as you make your way around the reservoir.

Flora & Fauna

Ospreys, great blue herons, double-crested cormorants, red-winged blackbirds, American white pelicans, sandhill cranes, wood ducks, mallards, Canadian geese, northern river otters, American badgers, common garter snakes.
