Description
This trail leads from the parking area at the base of Black Bear Pass road to the base of
Bridal Veil Falls. This is a difficult trail with rough terrain, but has payoffs in the form of sights of three different water falls, including
Bridal Veil Falls. There is a water crossing which can be hazardous at certain times of year. This trail is an alternative to running along Black Bear Pass road, which is a medium difficulty run.
The first waterfall is about three tenths of a mile into the run and involves intermediate to difficult terrain to access. View of the waterfall is followed shortly by a water crossing. The trail continues with intermediate to difficult terrain, becoming more difficult about a half mile into the run. The second waterfall is visible about seven tenths of a mile into the run and has an overlook area to get good views. After the second waterfall, the terrain becomes more difficult the rest of the way to
Bridal Veil Falls.
To access the top of
Bridal Veil Falls, continue running along Black Bear Pass road from the end of
Bridal Veil Falls running trail. There are a few branches off Bridal
Bridal Veil Falls Trail to view other sites, including closer access to the waterfalls. The trail is fairly well marked at all branches.
The running trail is the result of collaborative efforts between San Miguel County, Idarado Mining Company, Town of Telluride, and Telluride Mountain Club.
