Description
Starts at the equestrian parking lot but with some connecting trails, you could start and end in several other areas as well. The trail heads south to the Boise River (south channel) with views of the prison dormitory and the warden's house on the right. The trail then follows the river most of the way to the fish hatchery before heading northeast to the old slaughterhouse. Next, it's northwest to the Osprey Group Picnic Area and the lake. Follow the north shores of the lake as you keep an eye out for frisbees that could brain you. At the westernmost point of the lake go due west to the park perimeter and then north to the Boise River (north cannel). The trail follows the shore and the north boundary of the park with a minor side trip to cross the entrance road. At the northeast corner of the park turn from the river and head south to the parking area once again.
