Description
This trail segments connects the Woodbridge portion of the
Naugatuck (Blue) Trail to
Regicides Trail (Blue Trail) up in West Rock Ridge State Park. Starting from the western end, the first third is flat to slightly hilly dirt track with a few small hills. The middle section is a fairly steady uphill, not technical in terms of footing, but definitely a bit of cardio (gains about 200 ft over a mile). Then there is a steep climb over the last quarter mile (another 200+ ft in this short distance) up the rocky terrain on the side of West Rock Ridge. The footing is generally solid in good weather but some balance and dexterity are required. Note that the blazes change from blue, to blue+red (route overlapping with
Bishop Estate East Loop Trail (Red) ), to blue with yellow dot (Regional Water Authority land, permit required).
