As the Old Ranger Trail has closed due to construction for the power line access road, this is the new trail that replaces it and is slightly longer than the old trail.

The trail can be accessed either from the park road or the Old EC connector. On the river side, it runs somewhat downslope of the old trail on a well-made trail meandering through the woods with short elevation changes. After crossing the power line right of way, the trail continues a mild climb until crossing the old access road, after which you continue until joining the Peaceful Pond Trail. The trail ends at the parking lot near the park headquarters.

While you had previously been able to park at the Peaceful Pond Trail without paying to enter the park, this now appears to be closed, either for the construction or permanently.
