This blue-blazed trail provides a lovely mild-moderate intensity hike near the border of Woodbridge and Bethany. The terrain is mostly dirt/rock with some tree roots, although with a few muddy spots and several tiny creeks to cross via rocks. The trail branches off from the main Naugatuck (Blue) Trail near the intersection of Sanford Road and Seymour Road (near the Eldersie Preserve and Bladen's Brook segments). Starting from the Stanford Road trailhead (slightly hidden but evident by gravel shoulder parking for a couple cars), pass the rightward takeoff to the Big Tree Trail (yellow) and cross the wooden bridge over a creek feeding Bladen's River. Head west along the river for a quarter mile where the main branch turns right** to follow another creek upwards until ultimately exiting into a quiet residential neighborhood. There are several yellow-blazed trails from this neighborhood through the Bethany Farms area to return to the car ( Big Tree Trail , Narrows Trail (Yellow) at Bethany Farms , Gate Trail (Yellow) at Bethany Farms ). ** The leftward branch appears to be a dead-end offshoot according to the map.
