From the parking area / Cornfield Trails at Fitzgerald Tract, this red-blazed trail heads west past the community garden plots and then enters the woods for a tenth of a mile before T intersection with the Naugatuck (Blue) Trail. To extend into a more rigorous hike, do this whole distance, and at the end turn left and follow the blue trail around until it returns to the parking area (or into adjacent segments). To keep things more gentle, focus on the first half of the red trail, perhaps looping up and down the aisles of the community gardens, and then loop around the Other Trail at Fitzgerald Tract.
