Need to Know
I like to park near the start/finish icons are since you're able to get shade from the nearby trees.
Description
This is a paved walkway around the park that serves as a great space to get a daily run in or a stroll during lunch. There are several places to access West Chickamauga creek for fishing, kayaking, or wildlife viewing. I often see lots of birds and the occasional northern water snake. There is a bridge on the east side of the park that leads you over the creek to the much longer (10.3mi) South Chickamauga Creek Greenway trail.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of oak trees, honeysuckle, muscadine vines, Virginia creeper, and the prickliest tree of all... the honey locust! I've seen the usual bird species here including; cardinals, brown thrashers, mockingbirds, robins, red-winged blackbirds, red-bellied woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, lots of great blue herons, and the occasional hawk.
