Description
Starting from the parking/camping for Lightning lake, the trail winds along the shoreline of the lake in a southwest direction. Reaching the end of the lake, the gently downward sloping trail follows the valley bottom, often along small creeks and/or marshland to the Flash lake. After Flash lake, which is not accessible by boat, unlike Lightning lake, the trail passes Strike lake before ultimately arriving at Thunder lake. Just before reaching Thunder lake, which in late fall was very low, down about 6-10 metres of water from the high water mark, the trail emerges from the thick forest of the valley bottom into talus slide areas. Take care to watch/listen above for sliding or tumbling rock.
