Runner Notes
Not really a good trail for running given the amount of vegetation.
Description
Parking at the sharp curve, the trail entrance is very clear. There is parking for 7-8 cars and it requires a Southern California Annual Forest Adventure Pass or Daily Pass (pro tip...buy one annual pass for $30 and a second car annual pass for only $5 more). There are a couple of small switchbacks to start and then you'll pass by a couple of small cabins.
From there, run by a number of large boulders and above the stream bed. Eventually, climb down some roots and run along the creek bed for the latter portion of the run until you reach the waterfall. There is a good chance your feet will get wet, but it is possible to stay dry.
At times it is necessary to scramble up rocks and duck under fallen trees. Waterfall is rewarding at the end of run. Fun for kids because there is water and lots of scrambling to do.
Flora & Fauna
Beautiful flowers sporadically throughout the run in the spring months. Oak trees and yucca plants throughout. Also some large evergreen trees. In the shade for the majority of the run.
