Once a great 4x4 road (NF 118 on old maps), this route lives on as Rankin Mill Trail #191 and Black Lake Creek Trail #188. Both trails "start" near Black Lake. This is the northern portion of that old road.

Cross Lake Fork Creek and traverse the mountain for a bit before heading up a few switchbacks to a saddle. Drop down to Paradise Creek and Paradise Creek Trail #186. Heading North, go right at the junction of Carbonate Hill Trail #189 and left at the junction of Copper Creek Trail #190 to the trail summit and Holbrook Saddle. From here it is all downhill to West Fork Rapid River Trail #113.
