Description
This red-blazed trail starts at the corner of the Globe Hollow Swimming Area parking lot and follows a gravel road before turning right onto a dirt path. This short path leads to the edge of Globe Hollow Reservoir. The trail then goes into the woods and runs along the reservoir. Eventually, the trail turns away from the reservoir and leads to the corner of one of the parking lots at the school, where the trail ends.
Even though this is a shorter trail, it is still nice for running and can be used as part of a longer run. There are other un-blazed trails off of the Red
Trail that lead back to the gravel road or elsewhere behind the school, so it is easy to do small loops.
This trail is also a great connector to other nearby trails. The
Charter Oak Greenway: Eastern Section is located just to the north of this trail, and there are additional trails on Manchester Water Department land to the south (dark blue, white, and yellow trails by Taylor Reservoir) which eventually lead to some of the Case Mountain trails that start off of Line St.
This area is managed by the Manchester Water Department.
Parking is available at Globe Hollow Swimming Area, Mt Nebo Park, and Martin Elementary School (outside of school hours).
